Last Day of Winter

It's such a sad day. I never like seeing this day come as I enjoy winter so much. Though this winter was bad in many ways. Ice storms here, nor'easter's on the east coast, and I think they're getting another one, if I'm not mistaken, or is it past? I heard birds this morning when I left for the pool, though I haven't seen them yet. They were chirpping away in the trees.
Are you looking forward to spring? What do you look forward to with spring? Do you become more outgoing, spend more time outdoors?
Tomorrow with the first day of spring, is my grandson's birthday. He'll be 26 tomorrow. He was my first grandchild. That's him in the picture, with a very young looking me.

Time flies, doesn't it? My first child is now 46.
I'm not sad that winter is over. I like spring with the milder weather and to see the flowers grow and the grass green.

I heard were supposed to get another noreaster this weekend but I hope it's not true. We've already had 2 storms that dumped 2 feet of snow and it's just now melting. I don't want anymore snow. The temps our only going to be in the 30's this week but hopefully after that it will start getting warmer, i'm ready for spring!

@Blondie2222 I just looked at the weather site and you're going to get hit between DC to New York City, totals are up to 18 inches depending on where you live, most at least a foot. So hunker down and get ready, it starts tonight, but seriously tomorrow morning.

I do love cold weather and the snow. I just don't like working outside in it. That is a lovely picture of you and your grandson!

@just4him Surely, he is a blessing. It has been snowing since yesterday, and it has not stopped. The bad things is I have to walk and work outside in this tomorrow for minimum wage.

@just4him The worst for us was back in 2011 in West Allis. That was a doozy. If you don't mind me sharing...
A snow blower by any name... If I'd have chosen to name my snow blower Lucille, I'd have found myself singing, "You picked a fine time to leave me." If anyone has been watching the news, there's no secret that a major winter storm just blew through...

I love snow. It's beautiful. Yes, it's cold, but I love it. I don't like ice. In winter you can layer up to keep warm. There aren't any nasty flying insects anywhere. Summer is way too hot, you can't shed enough clothes to be cool, and still be dressed decent. You stick to yourself because of the humidity. It's totally uncomfortable. Snow puts a smile on my face. Summer puts a frown.

Thank you! I'm sure he'll be on FB tomorrow and I think I'm going to post this picture to his timeline. I think he'll like that. I don't even know if his mother has seen that picture, or if she remembers it, but she should see it on his timeline. She won't friend me. It's not because of our relationship, it's good. She doesn't think I would appreciate her posts.

I look forward to spring because it means warmer weather and that we are getting closer to summer. I enjoy the flowers blooming and being able to open the windows in my house in April and May. Also Spring Break when we usually go to Mexico though not this year.

Very nice picture, you and your sweet grandson:) I love the springtime, birds coming back, flowers popping through the soil, frequent showers, and people walking past our home. We had a relatively mild winter, while others got buried up to their windows. Happy 26th Birthday, to your grandson!

@just4him I spend most of my summer indoors, to stay out of the heat.

Even though the calendar will say spring is here, certain areas will still be under be under winter's grasp especially the northeast where another Nor'easter is headed the fourth in less than four weeks. Glad we don't get hurricanes like that (it helps that the water that was churned up takes several days before it could support the major building up of another hurricane)

I thought I had seen back to back hurricanes hitting Florida. I'm glad that's not the case.
Yes, they are really getting hammered in the northeast and along the coast.

I'm sure you'll be wishing it was already here as another nor'easter comes your way.
