Gardening is water wastage???

I read it on Facebook shared by few of my contacts. I completely disagree with the comment. Plants only needs water that too in a limit and they give us fruits , flowers and oxygen. How can someone say gardening is water wastage?? Does the people who say this eat soil and breathe carbon dioxide??

i collect rainwater for my garden.nothing wasted.

Of course plants need water too, it is not water wastage. People are really silly
