I am always on the lookout for new goth bands, so it was a pleasure to find these guys early on in their career. We are at #4 in my countdown of my favorite songs with "door" in the title: "Behind the Crimson Door" by HIM (His Infernal Majesty,) who are making their first appearance in one of my music series'. Hailing from Finland, HIM formed in 1991, and after a two year hiatus, continued making music, releasing eight studio albums and 28 singles until finally breaking up in 2017. During that time, they sold over 10 million records worldwide. "Behind the Crimson Door" is an album cut, the sixth track, from the band's 2005 album, Dark Light. That album charted in 15 countries, was certified platinum in their native country, and gold in the US, UK, and Germany, making HIM the first Finnish group to achieve gold record status in the United States. While "Behind the Crimson Door" was not released as a single, it certainly could have been. It's extremely radio, and listener friendly. I've linked to the album version, as I was unable to find a video. I hope you will enjoy it. (Your love will be the death of me info verified by Wikipedia)

It's very dark music made by people that wear all black clothing. It's an entire lifestyle, too.

Are they technically a goth band? Maybe they are. I have their version of "Solitary Man" on an Orkus compilation, so I guess they count. This song sounds a bit "gothier" than I'm used to hearing from them.

I found that a lot of their stuff sounds like The Mission. Not so much with this one.

@spiderdust - My friend is a skater, and was skating with some kids he knows. He played some Mission for them and apparently they were like, "this sounds like HIM." He was like, "no, HIM sounds like The Mission." Not all their stuff, of course, but I've heard it in a few songs.

@teamfreak16 Maybe I need to give them another listen. I never got The Mission feel from them, so clearly I missed something.

the title made me think of Shakin' Stevens's Green Door, a fun number but not worthy of the top ten, but it did generate of the funniest stories in the history of pop music. Shakin was on at the Glastonbury rock festival and a fan actually took a full sized green door from his house to wave about hoping he'd get seen by the TV crews filming the festival. Shakin didn't even sing Green Door that day so he'd completely wasted his time

That's pretty funny. I have never taken anything to a concert hoping to get noticed. Hilarious.

I had to look it up. Totally bringing back the hair metal sound! Motley Crue could totally have done it. I liked it.
