Tornado's on the way to Florida

I am beginning to feel like a reporter for all the disasters that have been hitting Florida this past year.
Right now we are all waiting for a tornado to hit again. I just went out and moved all my small plants to the ground level under a big chair. Supposedly it is on its way and covering almost the whole state.
I do like the idea of rain coming but not with all the winds they are predicting.
Just another day in Florida. Want to come for a visit?

We have been under tornado watches and warnings since yesterday evening. Our emergency alerts kept going off all day long here in north Florida, but as far as I can tell there's been no tornado touchdowns yet. But the bad storms have finally moved out of the area, leaving a beautiful pink sky right before the sun sets. The only bad part is that it is now very, very windy, and tomorrow is forecast to be even windier.

Nope not for me, I'd rather deal with snow than a tornado. Stay safe!!

What is it about FL and CA that makes Mother Nature wanna slam you guys with so much horror?
I am so grateful that it's been relatively mild here for now. As for 2017, it was a total witch with all those jumping biting itsy bitsy bugs we had, thankfully they're all gone Whew.

Oh yeah, the did have major issues with Hurricane Harvey @ramapo17 but it only affected the southeast coast of TX, where I am it had no affect although 2017 did pose an insect problem here that I'd never experienced before .... that never made the news though .... and tornadoes are common in the central part of TX and really severe ones hit every few years so it's not an uncommon occurrence.
But how often does FL get that many hurricanes one after another then gets hit with tornadoes? Your state is no where near as big as TX so to me it means FL really got slammed.

@rebelann Last year we had a tornado warning but it missed us but it was very close. The hurricane prediction was a lot more but we only got hit once and that was for the one last September when we finally evacuated to the northeast. We lost most of our car port and it was just replaced totally last week. It only took 5 months because all the very bad damaged ones were fixed first. There are still a lot more houses to do.
Was that bombing incident in Austin, Texas near you?

You make it sound so inviting. I will probably wind up living in Florida when I return to the states this summer.

@ramapo17 after northern Europe winters with very low temps in the minuses and summers that are not really summers you can bet I will love it.

@Marilynda1225 I talked to my grandson tonight and he said school is already telling students the schools are closed tomorrow. That is a smart move so people do not have to get up so early for nothing.

My kids live the northeast in New Jersey and told us about this one. It is their 4th storm. All the winter storms and cold weather is the reason my husband wanted to move out of Pennsylvania. We lived on the border of New Jersey in the Poconos.

I don't think this is any better than where you are. I have never been to California but I visualize it as being beautiful. My grandson is going to be stationed in San Diego and leaves Illinois tomorrow. Maybe we will get to visit him there. I have relatives in north California.

I visited my sister over there in Florida 23 years ago and there was a tornado that luckily didn't do much damage.. Yes the strong wind can be scary .. It sounds like an airplane crashing ..
