Strange bird sighted out front today

Or maybe we do have black squirrels here. I don't know what got up Scar's butt today, but he decided he needed to be in the tree. This is something I don't condone...and he usually won't even go up it chasing a squirrel...but he decided today is the day. Of course, as soon as I came out of the house, he quickly came back down without me having to say a word. He knows better. But sometimes, he's just gotta 'cat' a bit. (And before anyone tells me I need to move the lead and how dangerous it is...no. His collar is always kept loose enough that if something happened it would slip right over his head, he can't 'hang' himself)

That is definitely some strange bird! But my 8 year old just happened to be reading over my shoulder and he says "Are you kidding me, that's a cat, duh!" .

And that is why we keep myLot family friendly. You never know who might read over your shoulder.

Goodness that's simple enough, it's definitely a 'cat bird!' I can tell by the hair and it's long tail!

@JolietJake The song of the frustrated. Poor boy, although you probably don't need kittens. Is he neutered?

I have seen that bird before. It is A Moheakcan. Native to the Moheakcan islands off the coast of Ginny.

he has one hell of an imagination ! he probably came down in fear that you would mistake him for a squirrel and throw a tock at him.

It finally happened this morning...looked out and the lead was hanging over a limb with an empty collar on the end, slipped over his head just like it was supposed to. Found him in the back yard loving on a bush.

He looks happy up there. We had a cat on the farm that got itself wedged in the fork of a tree which was pretty sad as we didn't find it immediately. By the time we did it had expired.

You know how things get when spring is in the air..... (Not to mention those pesky spring dandruff pellets some people call "snow"....)

it's the instinct to climb, to be way up there. if he didn't come down on his own when he saw you, what would the punishment be?

@JolietJake SoCo used to mark up the backyard to make sure anything that happened to come into the yard knew that it was his.

Look how easily he climbs on that tree. Better that the squirrels pay attention.
