This afternoon, on the first day of spring, there was no rain but cloudy skies. And the temperature was in the 40s too. Though we're going to get a rain/snow mix tonight and snow tomorrow, I'm so tired of this cold and snowy weather. I'm looking forward to warm spring weather. Today for my next swim lesson, we did the same thing we've done on Friday... almost. I warmed up with one lap each with the regular and elementary backstrokes. Then she wanted me to work on my freestyle and front crawl with the cones in place. So I've did four laps with the two cones as markers, and then the last two laps with one. She has confidence I can swim the full length of the pool by the end of the week. Then I did two half-laps with the breast stroke to the cone marking the spot. The first half I swam with my head in the water, then the last half was with my head out of the water. She said I'm getting better. For Thursday, we're going to work on my flutter kicks for the freestyle. I did mention to Paige that my gym membership expires next weekend and that I plan to take a 2 week break from the gym. She said that was okay and to text her when I'm ready to come back. I know I'll take the week after Easter off to give my body a rest, to buy a new bathing suit or two (due to my bathingsuits I brought last summer are stretched out and one's faded), and to renew my membership for a final year, (since my Android can't do mobile banking with my camera). So I have to wait until the 8th of April to do it with my brother's phone. I plan to be back maybe around April 12th or 16th. So we'll see then.

I was practicing swimming today. It was my second time up to the YMCA in a city near here. My goal has been to swim from one side of the pool to the other under water, but my lung capacity is bad from not being that active through the winter. First, I go to the bottom, then I put my arms against my sides, and then I swim with my legs only. Using a frog kick I have long swum with, I skim along the bottom and try to get to the other side on one breath. Sadly, I haven't been able to yet. The pool is half the size of an Olympic pool, so not that long. I almost did it the previous time. Today I worked on breathing since my lung capacity was shot.
