Well there was absolutely no reason for them to cancel school today. The snow just started about an hour ago here at the Jersey Shore so everyone could have gotten in a full day. They are saying that it started later than expected and will end later than they thought. . . which increases the likelihood of them cancelling tomorrow as well. I just read that the snow probably won't end here until about 2 am. They won't have the parking lots for 19 schools cleared in time to open tomorrow. No way. I'm normally not one to be against a day off but from here on out every day we are closed means one more day added on in June when it is super hot and we don't have air conditioning. Ugh.

Yes, but notifying all the kids at a late time would have resulted in poor attendance.

As a pupil/student, I always celebrated days like these.

But yeah, we always looked at the present and didn't keep in mind we wouldn't have air conditioning in June. Italian summers can be pretty hot and humid too.

@NJChicaa I remember students writing on the mayor's facebook wall asking to close schools because of bad weather, and the mayor replied with something along the lines of "come on, you lazy butt".
