I told you this past weekend I was going to message the author of the book that had the plethora of characters. I told her that I found all the characters confusing even though I had enjoyed the book. She had apparently heard from others they had enjoyed the multi point sof view. The point of view of the main characters was OK, but I didn't see any reason to include the son's pregnant girlfriend and her parents. and various detectives on the force .although I guess some characters could have been put in as red herrings or distraction. I think it just took away from the plot..oh well, I said it..I hope in future books she eliminates superfluous characters, but maybe others would have a different take away.

I'm sure she'll keep that in mind for future projects.

Hard to say, I should look to see what some of the other reviews on the book are.

Some people want to hit a certain amount pages so they just add a bunch of junk and it makes things more confusing. Maybe this author will enjoy a little different constructive criticism then she usually receives.

Oh Stephen King is famous for that. I know he contracts for a certain amount of words and alot of his later stuff is no good for that reason.

I hope she is someone who ask to take the suggestions into account. Some only ask, but never listen.

By and large the reviews for her book (I looked on Amazon) were very good, but some felt like I did that the book was all over the place..even though they gave her a good rating. Lots of imagination and creativity for sure!

@snowy22315 The book would be a lot better if she listened to the suggestions.

Yes, maybe she will think more about putting extra characters in the book...I personally don't think you should have to write a story web as a reader, to keep all the characters straight!
