the name sounds familiar. I think my Mom made these and called them potato pancakes.

Hehhe, yeh, it's the same thing. But some people use flour with it, and I like matza meal better.

where does this dish originate from? Sounds nice, not sure about potato and applesauce, sour cream sounds better to me.

I like the sour cream better too. It originated from the Mid east. I think, not sure though.

This is fantastic. It's fried in oil. You grate a potato, onion, and add an egg and matza meal, salt and pepper. Drop by spoonfulls into hot oil. Eat with sour cream or applesause.

They are so yummy. It's grated potato, grated onion, egg, salt and pepper, and some matza meal. You mix that and deep fry. Eat with sour cream or applesause.
