Just under a month

Just under a month till the closing date of the house "over there." We wait and fiddle our twiddling fingers and I work on mundane things like house insurance.....you have any dogs? Dogs? What does that have to do with the price of china? I looked on line and oh, there are about a dozen dog breeds that are not allowed in insured houses. No cute Dobies or Pitties or Shepherds here so we're good to go there. Tomorrow the appraiser gives out his or her opinion. The mortgage company takes that and files that and we all breathe a sigh of relief when the house passes muster with that entity. (I am going forward with hope in my heart that the appraiser says all is well and the house may sell for what it is being sold for.) Meantime....back to the salt mine of picking up and cramming into a bag or box a piece of that this and that. The Goodwill loves me now. I think.

@cintol I wanted to get us going into retirement early so I will have to sit on my hands for about 3 years....we will rent the house to somebody during that time. I hope the real estate agent will help us find a decent renter.

@sallypup I hope so too, I hope they don't find one that will destroy it before you get to enjoy it.

Glad you wont have the dog issue. As I know how much animals are family to you, so wouldn't work out.

@Courtlynn Thanks. Silly Sally is a Blue Heeler and that breed is on some folk's "bites people" list. Its cause her DNA tells her to chase and bite ankles.

@Courtlynn We just keep Sally away from little screaming kids who run around crazy. With calm adults she just wants them to toss a ball.

I am surprised about German Shepherds but of course, we have little doggies so no issues. I am delighted that things are moving along for you.

@BelleStarr I've not been around a German Shepherd much. The insurance reports have me curious. I'm going to have to see if I can meet one or two so that I can test their natures!

Glad to hear that things are moving along nicely. Is there a home inspection report yet?

@JamesHxstatic Yes on the home inspection report. There were some warnings about the roof- uh oh. I think we can wait there a few years. And then the kitchen plug in for the brand new stove was wonky and so was the bathroom plug in- we asked the sellers to work on those issues and they have agreed to do that. (Heated bathroom floor oh my!!!)

Do you have to sell your current house? It's good your dogs pass muster with the insurance company.

Good luck on the house. I bought my house ,then got my dog. You can't put a price tag on a pet.

Dogs are only vicous if they were trained that way. Im surprised that insurance companies dont charge higher rates if an ex felon lives in the house, just by using the dog logic.
