Shoveling snow is for the dogs

I went out and did it this afternoon for the first time ever after living here for 14 years. I slept funny on my shoulder last night and it has been extremely painful all day. I was hoping that it would feel better as the day went on but it didn't unfortunately. At 4 pm I went out and shoveled the snow from behind my car and where the plows blocked the end of the driveway. Luckily the sun melted a lot of it in the middle of the driveway. My shoulder hurt like a biotch the entire time but no one was going to help me so I had to just power through it. All I can say is that I'm glad that I have a husband to shovel the driveway most of the time! Normally I wouldn't have minded it that much, but with an extremely painful shoulder it was a nightmare.

I have to shovel mine myself and it's pretty long. I'm tiny and with the asthma I have been having a really hard time with it the winter in the cold. That is awful that after all these years the day you finally have to shovel you have a very sore shoulder. How is it today? I'm worried it is likely worse. Shoveling is great exercise but absolutely exhausting. When my father happens to be in town he plows it with his tractor and it is a huge relief for me.

@NJChicaa did you do anything new at the gym that could have pulled a muscle?

My shoulder is still terrible. I don't know why it hurts so much. It can't be just from sleeping funny.

Shoveling is no fun anytime and with a bad shoulder, it would be awful. I hope it is better soon.

Thanks. I'll just take some more ibuprofen in the morning and hope for the best. I think actually using the shoulder shoveling helped the situation.

Once I got warmed up, it wasn't too bad. . . until the end when it started getting really sore. I popped 3 ibuoprofen when I came back in.

Get better. I used to be like you and wait for a man to do the work, now I can do whatever I need done, I refuse to be "stranded" when I know good and well I am able to do the work.

On any other day I could have easily shoveled my way out. With my shoulder hurting so much, though, it was a challenge. My husband loves snow and always does the shoveling. Fine with me! If he isn't around, I can do it. . . even with a busted shoulder.

That was in lieu of going to the gym.

I hate when I sleep wrong and my arm hurts because of it. I wonder why I don't wake up and reposition my self when I sleep funny. I hope the pain is all gone now.

It was miserable! if my shoulder wasn't hurting, I would have been able to easily bang it out. Today, though, not so much.
