A few weeks back I posted about a fun activity at a glass studio. http://www.mylot.com/post/3158068/fun-activity The items have all been fired, and my sister-in-law picked mine up. She sent me a picture of it. I am pretty well satisfied. It is not perfect, but few hand crafted items ever are. So this is just to share with you. The image is what I made.

@rebelann I did not think so, but I have had some experience cutting glass in the past. I think the leaded glass art is difficult, in my opinion, but this was just fun.

This is something I had not heard much about, so I loved learning and doing. They have huge kilns.

@JudyEv These wre the largest kiln's I have seen, and my impression was that they were as big as coffins. . . a macabre thought. I could have misjudged the size.

We had a fun social time doing our various pieces together. I liked that we each did our own thing, and had the chance to visit while doing it.

Oh my goodness. It's gorgeous! I love it. The painting studio I have been to lets you do glass, but I haven't tried it. You just made me want to try it.

A really good studio manager/teacher can make your projects fun. I will admit I have attempted glass work before, but not this kind. I like this better.

The white part is a 6x6 inch glass tile. You layer other pieces of glass on top of it, gluing them slightly. Then it is put in a kiln, a special kind of oven for firing glass and ceramics. The glass melts together and stays. I used special cutting tools to cut the pieces and fit them together. The shop had all kinds of glass.

It would go in one of my bathrooms that has some pink and lots of floral. You are correct that it could handle the moisture. I wonder what it would look like as a sun catcher.
