OMG! March is almost over. I was surprised an hour ago that my client told me that she can 't come next Friday for her back massage because it will be Good Friday.
Yes, it is Easter again and I have to think of what to serve for Easter Sunday dinner. We will not do Easter hunting as my child is already so old for that. We don't celebrate the Holy Week here in Germany like we do in the Philippines.
In the Philippines, going to church to attend Mass on Good Friday and the procession of the cross is a must. I have done that last year.
How do you celebrate Easter at home / in your country?

Since my brother and I aren't kids anymore, and we don't have kids here, all we do is make a ham and potatoes dinner. Except we wont be this year because the ham costs $30 which is outrageous!

@Courtlynn that is too much money to spend for a ham. I hope you will have a substitute for that ham.

When my grandchildren were little I would have an Easter egg hunt in the yard. They had a lot of fun. Now there are no more children. I do go to church. Our church is having an Easter egg hunt for the kids after church this year.

Yes, Holy Week is very much celebrated here in the Philippines as you know. Procession of the carriages of saints and the passions of Christ is an important occassion. Then at 10 :00 in the evening we have the Soledad where most women join in the procession. At 12:00 will be the all boys' turn for.the procession.
Such a nice tradition.

Swiss usually have a late Easter Brunch. If the time is warm and sunny outside, I think this year inside their homes. We will have an Easter lunch, very classic Italian lunch. Ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach, lamb with roasted potatoes and the "Easter Dove", a traditional Italian cake.

Holy week begins with the Palm Sunday procession. Maundy Thursday commemorates the institution of Eucharist and priesthood. On Good Friday we walk the way of the cross outside on the neighborhood street. Holy Saturday night vigil is meaningful service and Easter Mass on the morning is a joyful celebration.

I used to make a big dinner, a feast in Easter day, sometimes I would go to church. Hide colored eggs for the kids and make Easter baskets for the elderly, dress up in my new dress and shoes.
Now since there are not many people left alive or they have moved all over the country I do nothing. I may pack a picnic and go to the lake.

It is an age-old tradition here, especially during Good Friday to visit nine churches or attend the afternoon procession.

We usually do the Good Friday Service and Mass on Easter Sunday followed by family dinner, usually ham.

I don't usually celebrate Easter anymore. When I lived at home, we would get candy, dye boiled eggs (but stopped hiding them once my brothers became too old to hunt them,) and had a big dinner. Sometimes I buy candy for myself and my boyfriend, but that is it. I only celebrate if someone invites us to dinner. I do like buying plastic eggs and rolling them at my cat, though. He likes to chase them and bat them around the apartment.

we will be going to church. we won't do the 'visita iglesia' since there will be many people doing the penitence.
