My Husband is a Snacking Machine

I have never seen anything like my husband when it comes to snacking. He had shrimp and rice for dinner and about 7 p.m. Since then he has eaten a small bag of Lays potato chips, finished off a bag of crunchy cheese doodles and now he is eating chocolate chip cookies. Least, you think he must weigh 300 pounds, you are wrong, he weighs about 165 or so. I swear the man has a tapeworm!! lol Luckily, he has no issue with sugar or fat, his cholesterol is great and so is his sugar. He doesn't snack during the day, it is just in the evening. I sit here in the living room watching him go in and out of the kitchen!! He is just a big kid, today I found candy wrappers on his side of the bed when I was cleaning, a messy kid at that lol

@BelleStarr As thin as I am, my doctor would like me to lose 5 pounds. My huhas the same doctor, and the doc stopped nagging him years ago. Just as long as we are healthy, all is good.

He's a lucky guy that eating all that junk food doesn't affect him.

@sallypup MY husband doesn't eat anything green, yellow or orange or hardly anything. lol It all has to do with genetics.

@BelleStarr Wow. My husband went on the vegetarian/vegan route due to getting too heavy and unhealthy from eating meat. Everyone sure is different.

I think me and your husband will get along well. I think I can even eat more than your husband does, but I'm just not into sweets. I can eat three cups of rice and after two hours I can have burgers and friends or taco or chicken wrap as a snack. I eat more than 6 times a day. And I weigh 121 pounds. I don't snack at night though coz I go to bed early.

He likes savory food too but it is easier to eat snacks since they don't have to be cooked.

@BelleStarr I eat cooked snacks. As long as it's not in our main meal we call it snacks. So spaghetti is a snack, pizza is a snack, etc.

I get days like that usually in the evenings. I just can't stop eating but I always feel annoyed with myself after for being so greedy.

I think he is fit as a fiddle, my friend. He can still have some fruits as snacks to add up in his diet.

He is lucky not to have health issues and not to be overweight. My husband eats more than I do and he is as slim as he was when I met him.

Many men have a metabolism that is just faster than women, it isn't fair but it is what it is.

@BelleStarr This is true, hubby is even too skinny now, but if he is not hungry I surely does not oblige him to eat more.

That must be a man thing, my husband does the same thing. He is too busy during the day and sometimes forgets to eat lunch but so far tonight he had chicken and rice for dinner and has snacked on pretzel bites, M&Ms, and just finished string cheese. I told him that is why he has a gut belly and needs to lay off the snacking. He only weighs 210 but has no butt and it all comes to rest in his belly. I asked him one day when the baby was due lol

Young at heart and in the body too! I have diabetes and that is a real dampener when it comes to enjoying the good life but I am thankful for sixty odd years of enjoying sweets though snacking is still going steady! siva

I can imagine that diabetes can certainly curtail your snacking but I agree, we are all thankful for the healthy years we get.
