Just dropping by real fast I'm exhausted. She has from what they said at the ER after testing some nerve damage and muscle damage in the back. She has to go to her family doctor and go from there. They gave her a shot which made her a happy girl until she passed out. Rick checked out their mattress and told them it was to soft for her, so she now has a new one that he checked out and picked up for them. So tomorrow she is hoping to get into her family doctor. Poor Ecko doesn't understand why mommy couldn't pick her up. Feel bad for them. I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night so that is where I'm off too. Hope everyone had a good day and is doing well.

Hopefully this will heal on its own and wont require surgery. Back surgeries almost always fail. Good to know nothing is broken or no slipped disks. :-)

The PCP is saying she is thinking it is a herniated disk. She is having someone else look at the results. For now a back brace, physical therapy, and the chiro. I know someone that ended in a wheelchair from back surgery so that scares me.

@Ithink Yikes! Acupuncture might be of use. It worked wonders for my neck and hip pain. :-)

Yes she will be getting that .. her doctor thinks it is a herniated disk. So she has a back brace, will be getting therapy and has to go to the chiro. Guess the PCP is going to have someone else look at the test results.

@nanette64 I just know that is what she has been told to do, I don't know if her insurance would cover laser surgery or not. Really not sure of much right now.

@Ithink Laser surgery will help with the disk if that's the case. A chiro could easily do more damage if the disk is herniated.

How does he know its too soft for her? he doesn't have her back / body.. and everyones different on what kind of mattress they need.. (Not saying any of this in a mean way, just asking). But it could be part of the reason.. Hope she gets in to see the dr asap!

Because he is going on what I needed. I also have a bad back and hers was so soft there was no support. She got in and the doctor thinks it is a herniated disk.

Ouch! I hope that's something that won't require surgery. As someone else mentioned, back surgeries are rarely successful. Maybe physical therapy will help. Poor girl. Back pain can be debilitating.

Yeah the family doctor is having someone else look at the results from the ER. She is thinking it is a herniated disk, for now it is a back brace, therapy and the chiro. Hoping that works as the doctor said they will try this but sometimes, it is surgery. That scares me as I know someone that ended in a wheelchair from that.

Her PCP doesnt agree with what they determined in the ER so she is hving someone else look at the results. The ER said a pinched nerve. The doctor thinks it is a herniated disk. Right now she is still in some pain, no one gave her pain meds. She has a back brace, set up for therapy and to go to the chiro. THe PCP is having someone else look at the test results I guess to.
