Can't Get You Out of My Head

Ever gone to bed thinking about a problem which seem to have no solution? Studies have shown that during sleep our brain continue to grapple with matters that we have not resolve during the day.
Hence the saying, "Sleep on it".
Unfortunately we don't remember most of the thoughts that were going through our mind during the sleep state. There might be some bits and pieces floating around while we're still between the semi-conscious and fully awake state. So keeping a notepad on our bedside to write down ideas or thoughts before we forget them is a good practice.
Woke up early this morning while the rest of the house was asleep. Still half-awake, I hurriedly scribbled a poem (edited later) before it faded into oblivion.
Neon lights through the shades
cut into a passionless room
filtering vague memories
of summer days long gone
like our love, a brief interlude
Bleary-eyed from lack of sleep
I look up on the paint-peeled ceiling
gazing upon the here and now
cracked, as the season turn bitter cold
when our lives was torn apart
What lies in the shadows but sadness and longing
so many words unsaid, locked inside our heart
as pride and anger sealed our fate
besides an empty space, turning and tossing
too late regret, my pillow brings no comfort...I weep

Your poem seems to be a breath of a lonely heart.
But that poem is so nice. . so filled with sad feelings.
Indeed when one has a problem that seems to have no solution, one cannot fall asleep. ANd if ever he can fall asleep, he will wake up early and think of the problem again.
I pray and pray when I have a problem.

what, that is a good poem! I am sleeping on some of my problems right now, but I don't think my subconscious mind seems to know any answer (eg. which company would charge me less in fixing my expensive heater unit ?).

Beautiful poem.
I really enjoyed the environment description and the feelings within.
I often feel too lazy for noting down the before-sleep thoughts I have, so I'm left with nothing but the awareness I thought of something brilliant but I can't have that thought back anymore.
