After 13 1/2 years, it's finally over!

The past 13 1/2 years haven't been all bad, there were some okay times, but mostly it's just been miserable. So I'm extremely happy to say that it's all over! Actually as of April 14 it will be over.. that'll be the last day. On April 16 hubby will start a new job! He is thrilled, overjoyed really. He's been trying so hard for so long to get out of the place he works. He's been looking for probably about 10 years. His job has been so miserable. It would take far too long to even explain some of the hell hubby has been through.. but as hard as he's tried, he hasn't been able to find another job. He wouldn't take less money, and all that's out there for him is less money, or similar situations which he doesn't want. But he was just offered a position with a company he interviewed for last week. They're offering pretty close to what he's making.. but far less hours and stress. He already knows 3 of the guys who work there, they've all previously worked with him at the company he's currently at, and they love their new jobs so much better and tell him he'll love it too. He'll work a normal M-F job, only 1 Saturday a month instead of every single Saturday all the time. He'll be home in time to see the kids' soccer games and all the other things he's been missing out on for the past 13 years. It's been a long time coming, and I'm so happy for him.. and all of us!

That is really marvellous news. What a long time to stick at something you don't particularly like. I hope he really enjoys his new position.

He will love the new position. One of the problems with the old job was how physical it is. He keeps hurting himself. He had a refrigerator dropped on him a few weeks ago, he's barely healed from that and he hurt his back yesterday. It'll be nice to see him have a desk job so he won't come home in pain everyday.

Absolutely! He'll keep the second job for awhile as the money will be about the same so he'll still need the second income.. but he'll be home more in the evenings at least.

I am sure he will. It's the same company I work for, but we won't be working in the same building. It's a great company to work for so he will love it.
