Opal, my 8 and a half month old "kitten" was being so cute tonight. She got on my desk and I flipped her over on her back. Yes, she really does put up with it. Then I started gently scratching her chest. She tolerated it for a bit, then tried to bite me. I pulled back, and then did it again. She tried it again, must a few moments later, so I pulled back my hand and stopped. She really doesn't put up with that. She then fell asleep in my arm, well, she is still really small. I think she slept for nearly a half hour, so I was only able to mouse while she was there. I'm glad she woke up because my arm was starting to go to sleep, besides, I needed to do some other stuff.

Cats do not really appreciate when you scratch their chest.

Some like it. I suspect that she just wasn't in the mood right then.

@ElicBxn Only a few like this. They almost like a good scratch on their back.

Yes, Opal is her name. I guess you can tell she's a girl. She got spayed on the last day of February.

It is nice that you have a moment with your lovely kitten. I hope I can still do that. But then, my kittens are quite grown up now.

I suspect she's going to be kittenish all her life. She should be nearly full grown now and she's still small, for a grown cat.

@Shavkat some cats when they are over handled as kittens, don't want to be handled. But both Oliver, our previous bottle baby, and now Opal seem to like it. Must be a personality thing. Maybe because they didn't have siblings to cuddle with...

@ElicBxn My Shadow's sister is quite small.I don't have a clingy moment with her. She's quite snobbish. I think it is fine if she didn't grow longer than the other cats.

Opal sounds like my outside cat Tigger2 @ElicBxn . Except he's 15 pounds. I love to kiss his belly but when I do, he smacks me in the head.

I'm pretty sure she'd bit the heck out of me if I tried that. Bottle babies are pretty weird about things touching their tummies because of the stimulation that needs to be done to get them to pee and poo.

That is just so cute. Never had a cat before but it looks like I am considering the fact of having one.

If you aren't used to cats, you might want to start with an adult. They are only kittens for a very short time.

Opal is a kitty of opinions. She wants to lay on my desk and lean on me. I'm sorry, sweet heart, I'm not going to sit there all night so you can lean on me.

Kittens and cats can be very cute and know just how to use that cuteness to get what they want!

And Opal really knows that she's our precious baby. When you start with a 4 day old grey "jelly bean" you know she's going to be special to us.

She is. She was a bottle baby and they tend to stay very babyish.
