I will promote one of my own songs

Vanny and DJ have helped me post a bunch of songs to YouTube. Some are my own, and some are covers of others' songs. Some feature me on all instruments (though the miracle of overdubbing), and some feature one of the bands I play in, the Diablo Rhythm Wranglers. We haven't posted anything recently, though we're starting work on a lullabye that I recorded after hearing one of the kids I work with singing it. It will probably be a month before that one sees the light of day on YouTube. Here is the first song I ever recorded for Vanny and DJ. It is about a relationship falling apart. I used the metaphor of a moth dying in the flame of a candle because that's what happened the night I wrote it. I was reading and grading papers and watching a moth get sucked into the vortex of my candle flame. I wrote the song with a particular bluegrass band in mind (I never perform it), but they broke up before they could do anything with it. The major shortcoming is that you have to look at my ugly mug for the whole song. This one was put out there before we started using images of the beauty of Northern California for our songs. I hope you enjoy it. Many of you have seen it. If you haven't, leave a nice comment (if you can) and sign up (subscribe to?) for our "watch list," or whatever it's called.
A song about falling friendship........ Like and subscribe for more songs and videos :)

Youre an animal lover, a songwriter/composer, and what else have you gotten in your sleeves? Amazing. I will check the video in a while.

I have been arrested many times for planting corn, green bean, and sunflower seeds in random locations.

Bravo! I know it would be far, and cost a lot of money, but have you considered going to the Americana or Bluegrass conventions to promote yourself?

Well, I go to the Grass Valley Father's Day bluegrass festival. We jam to the wee hours. I actually enjoy jamming more then performing.

Heh. I knew some of my long-time MyLot friends would have seen them. Hey, how is your son doing? Is he in a group he likes right now?

@TheHorse Gigs have been thin on the ground over the winter. He mostly plays with two others for weddings, corporate functions, etc but sometimes he gets called on to join others for something special. The jazz players all seem to be very flexible as regards playing with this one or that one.

Thanks! Is "Americana" popular at all in the Philippines? One of my former students at the college (she is Filipino but has lived here in the US much of her life) is a good singer/songwriter. I actually got to back her up on bass at an Open Mic we used to host.

@thesupersingh Heh. If you're into Country dancing. A friend showed me the "two-step," but that's as far as I got.

Nicely done. Stopped by and glad I did. Dabble a bit myself, but my style of "music" is quite different. Thanks for sharing.

Love the fact that you got inspired to write the song because you saw a real-life situation.
