Easter is not a pagan holiday. It's a Christian holiday which coincides with pagan celebrations of spring, fertility, etc. The early Christians were not stupid. They put their festivities on dates when people already celebrated and built the first churches where people had always gathered to celebrate pagan gods.

It might as well be a pagan holiday, same with Halloween and Christmas. :P The usurpers were smart by putting their rules in place of what others had done before they existed. :D
