Images of the after life

Whether you believe in heaven or not most people have some sort of mental picture of what it will look like or what they would like it to look like. I always imagine heaven to be a place of with lots of greenery because that is what I love in this life. Some might imagine it to be blues skies and fluffy clouds or perhaps if you don't think such a place exists maybe the word heaven conjures up no pictures at all. How do you see it?

I see heaven like a beautiful place with lakes, streams and green valleys, where I can meet only those people I loved in my life. If there are no animals, there is no heaven.

That's a great picture. I always think of the Rainbow Bridge when I remember my own pets who have passed on.

@sprite1950 Our pets and the animals were part of our life, I cannot imagine an afterlife without our companions.

@LadyDuck I have lost so many pets over the years. The thought of seeing them all again brings tears to my eyes.

I see heaven as full of clouds and in those clouds we can walk or float. Thats how I perceive it to be. Just a simple as that.

@mlgen1037 I think those pictures are put in our head when we are young and they stay with us.

I have no image of what heaven is. Really. But I do believe in God and going to paradise. I just don't have a concrete image of what that would be. But I have an imagination of how I would feel though. Pure happiness.

I know it's weird but when I see woodland areas with many trees I always imagine there are spirits flying around in between the trees, spirits of children happy and laughing. I've no idea why I think that,

Lots of white clouds and big gates. Nothing creative here

I think these images are put in our heads as children. Pictures we have seen in books.

I see it with all the beautiful things in this world, no pain, no hatred, just loving souls and beautiful music.

I think it depends on what we've been told as children and the pictures we have seen in books. They seem to shape our idea of heaven.

I've never heard anyone say that before. Most people think of beautiful things. I wonder why you think of blackness.

Although I have grown up believing that there is heaven and hell somehow I am doubting about their existence now.

I picture it similar to but better than all the most beautiful places in God's creation I have been. Somehow I can't quite picture streets of gold as being better than lakes and mountains, trees and gardens and rivers and waterfalls, etc.

It's strange but I think we all picture it as something good we can relate to in this life because that's all we know, something that makes us feel happy, but It may not be anything we can see. Perhaps it will be something we can only feel.

@sprite1950 I guess we will all have to wait and find out. What we know is that it's beyond anything we can think or imagine.
