How to not peel an egg

My mom visited us yesterday. She gave us boiled eggs, ham and cakes. Our fridge is full now.
My boyfriend asked me to peel some boiled eggs for dinner. I opened the fridge, took the box of eggs (my mom put the boiled eggs back to a regular box of eggs). I took an egg, started to peel, knocked it on the kitchen table. And the next moment there was rare, liquid egg all over my hand and the table. 
First I didn't know what happened. Then I figured out that we also bough a box of eggs, which was untouched. I took the wrong box out of the fridge (well, I forgot that there's another box) and I 'peeled' a raw egg.
We laughed and I changed the boxes. My boyfriend got the dinner that he wanted.

Yes, I always do so when I boil them. But as it was a gift from my mom, it was in the box.

Yes, it was very tasty. We didn't eat the raw egg.

Yes, it happened accidentally, but it was a funny April Fools joke. My mom laughed at me when I told her what happened.
