I have never believed that gambling can be so rewarding at times. I have a friend who placed a $10 bet yesterday and got in return $763. I have been afraid of trying this because I'm not a fan of football. I wonder if anyone has ever gotten rich through football betting because those I know that have won end up misusing their money.

I do not like gambling and I know no one who got rich gambling. Sooner or later they lose everything they won, they become game addicted.

As a general rule, very few people ever actually get rich by gambling. There are always exceptions to the rule. But one thing I always point to is Vegas. If you look at where it started, and where it is now, none of that was built on winners.

@porwest Thats the thoughts I always have. The probability of me losing are higher than me winning. I prefer not to take risk in this as gambling can be quite addictive

@aureliah That's one thing that boggles the mind. People who actually think they will somehow turn their financial tables gambling. I can think of no stories of people who got rich by gambling. The lottery notwithstanding. Even still, you HAVE to have the rational thought in any of these things that you are more likely to lose money than gain it.

I'm not a person to gamble. I remember when I worked in a coffee shop where we used to sell scratch cards at the till. One guy came in and spent £40 ($56) on these cards and didn't win a bean! What a waste of money.

I don't even buy lottery tickets. I do occasionally speculate on what I would do with a large sum of money.

I rarely gamble. Only a few do well from it and I would be a bit afraid of getting hooked into gambling regularly.

Gambling of any type isn't healthy. It is very easy to fall into addiction to gambling. It only takes one good win to hook you, and many years to the rest of your life to break free. I know, I've been there, done that. Never again.
