What do you find the most frustrating about online earning?

I think for me it would be sites that were once pretty good, that are now terrible. It seems like some sites that once paid well are now awful, and are barely worth participating in. I have seen it happen time and time again. It seems like very few sites stay the same for the long..they will inevitably decline and either stop paying or become so bad, that it isn't even worth being on any more. I have seen it time and time again. Some sites seem roughly the same mylot for one..but many sites right down the tubes. What bugs you about online earning?

For me, it would be earning so little when sometimes I've invested quite an amount of time and research into producing something worthwhile. I'm not talking about myLot but other sites.

Sites that keep changing the rules annoy me. Around a month ago I joined a few but you never knew what to expect from day to day as every time you logged in something would be different, either the pay had gone down or they would reduce the number of posts you could do in a day. I also belonged to a site which paid quite well but took a long time to send the money. It took 6 weeks before I got paid.

@Icydoll I used to be into forums. I tend to think of MyLot as a forum but it's more a social networking site

Yes, the fact you can't always rely on the sites you use is frustrating, that's why it's always suggested to not put all your eggs in one basket. I'm not really a creature of habit, but the internet changes very fast and one has to keep up with it, a huge effort one has to keep in mind.

Most people don't do that,,but they feel like they can trust a site over time, and then it is proven you can't..it gets frustrating

Spending time and not being paid under the pretext the site makes no money. Read Bubblews.

@LadyDuck Yes, I can think of a few sites like that. Most of them are started with good intentions..but their profits arent what they had hoped so they take it out on the users.

@snowy22315 In the beginning they paid all the users and the earnings where good. They cheated in the last few months of the life of the site.

I think the worst is not knowing what is going to happen to the site. It is amazing how well mylot has done as compared to any other blogging discussion site. there have been many that barely last a year and then mylot still stands. People just throw themselves at anything that they think will earn them money fast and that is probably the most annoying thing about earning online. Is the get rich quick people. They are the ones that kind of kill the websites, the spam and not care about anything other than earning.

Yeah, honestly, I am pretty surprised about mylot too and it's longevity when many similar sites, Gather and Sidetick to name a couple have fallen by the wayside. I think they tend to have a more devoted crew..or people who liked them, left and then came back.

Mine is the same as the others - you can't trust them. Even the ones you think are trustworthy can't be trusted. There are precious few that can be and I think myLot is one of them. If I had all the money I have lost from sites disappearing and not paying out, I could take an extended vacation!

@peavey I have one site that I was on years back that has a 50.00 payout and they owe me 29.00. I need to try to get that..maybe if I ask nicely..

One thing I don't particularly like is that it takes a lot of effort and you earn so little. It takes so much effort and work and energy for hardly anything. Plus, there aren't as many places where you can earn online now.

I hate when they change the rules in the middle. I hate that they fold without paying or when they just come up with some ridiculous excuse for not paying. I hate activities that do not credit. Then they give some excuse about third parties and we aren't responsible for things going wrong. Well, when we do the activity, they jolly well get paid for it plus they keep our share of the pay also.

Yes, I have had that happen too, and then they act like it is a bit deal to pay you fifty cents or whatever..like anyone would bother to lie about that..it is rather insulting.

@snowy22315 Its crazy cause it makes the site this side of not being useable. If they really want folks to use the site they'd keep it viable.

@JohnRoberts I've done some HITs on MTurk. Made under $1.30 in total and have not done anything since. I don't seem to be into it. Or I find some task to do but after previewing I think I won't get it right so don't try it. That's probably bad on my part because then I lose out on making some pennies.

One thing I hate about online earnings is how long it takes to reach the minimum. I never reach it in a month's time. Even on mylot where the minimum is pretty low I can't even reach that in one month. Pathetic. I also hate it when it seems I've put in a lot of time on a site and the earnings are super low. Doesn't seem worth it. And then there is the worry about whether I will get paid or not and if I will ever reach the minimum at all.

@snowy22315 You were unfortunate! Some received a few thousands of dollars from the few years they wrote for that site. The owner of the site could be very bias, he paid promptly to those he felt were good causes (people who told the world they were very poor, from poor countries, or must take care of poor old mother father child etc.). New members always got good money for a while. The owner was a funny guy.

Even if you get a few payments from them, no guarantee it will continue. Some of them feel they need to change things and they get screwed up..and aren't user friendly any more.

@snowy22315 I think it is really hard to make a living from online working mostly because it needs a lot of effort and the payment habits as you've written. It is rather some pocket money, we are happy if we get it.
