How to learn a language in an efficient way?

Many students came to ask me about this question when I was a teacher. I believe learning a language is a long process which can’t be done in short time. I wonder is there an efficient way to learn a language or any languages should be learned step by step?

When you want to learn a language then you have to practice it. Not just in your mind or in writing but i guess it can be better if we have someone to practice it with.

I still believe practice makes perfect. If you live in an English environment for a while, you already make a progress. This year we travelled to USA for about two weeks. I realized that my listening is better when I am home.

I believe talking to someone who is fluent to the language would be helpful.
