Bright Sunshiny Day

The cat wanted to stay in last night so I allowed him, but he followed me everywhere. Just as I got comfy in bed with the book in hand he stuck his face under the door and meowed. I let him in and he found a space by the closet door so sleep, so he could "watch me." He woke me around 5 am, wanting out by doing the claws in carpet by the door but Tony was awake and I heard him open the door and whisper, "come on." After that it was very annoying, the cat meowing and tony talking back to him. Then it all got quiet. I went back to sleep. At 8:30 am here comes the meows again, under the door. I got up and opened the front door and made him go out. That woke Tony. He told me the cat would not go out early this morning and he told him to shut up when he started the crying under my door, he minded Tony, till 8:30. This is why I do not have pets in the house, I need sleep to function, I need sleep to be healthy. How about you, Do pets keep you awake?

No, the cats are very quiet here. If they are up during the night, they play downstairs, where they can't be heard.

@andriaperry Yes, they could be noisy when they run around and play. They sound like a tiny herd of elephants!

@andriaperry He's done it since he was a baby. When he was about 5 weeks old he started climbing up onto the bed. He would knead my neck and then fall asleep there. He still does it now that he's 5 years old.

The dogs except Bunny are crated at night and the cats are usually good about not bothering us. Of course they have been smacked a few times by a half asleep human brushing fur away.

@andriaperry The dobermans dont have that protective under coat that is needed to keep them warm in our winters. So they need to be in at times anyways. They are also a very needy breed. Always wanting to be close to their humans

I let the dogs be free outside, they have 2 dogs houses, well they have a huge portion of the yard to run and play.

Frosting has gotten used to just waiting outside the door for me to get up. Now the neighbors dogs woke me up at 4 am til we talked to them about it. Now they bring him right back in after he goes.

@andriaperry I don't think they consider it night, she goes to work at about that time, so I kinda understand put him out then but when they would leave him out yap yap yap. Thankfully she understood. My mom has coyotes behind her place and you can hear them at times. Freaked us out the first time as she has lived there for years and never heard them before. She also has a bear back yonder or a few of them I should say.

Yeah cats are adorable. I like my cat. At night, I put it In the room far away from mine, that't on our second floor, So that I can have a good sleep at night.

Occasionally Mr. Lister wakes me up when he wants food, or if he wants me to watch him eat. On the rare occasion he gets a wild hair and tries to climb the curtains in my bedroom, or plops his fat butt next to my head on my pillow and starts smacking things off my nightstand. But for the most part he is good about letting me sleep. He likes to stretch out on my legs and snooze along with me.

When we had cats if they didn't learn to leave us alone at night they'd be kept outside.

A barking dog at night affects my sleep. I would be worried that an intruder might be on the premises.

I have no time for pets here sadly. I like them but no time due to circumstances here. It just would not work.
