Pure vegetarians have longer life than Non vegetarians. Is it true?

April 8, 2018 9:20pm CST
An adult man said to me that 'its better for you to be a vegetarian in a young age. Non veg persons most of the time struggle in their old age because their body loses energy consumption capacity over the time which leads to the slowness and sometimes failure of internal organs. Vegetarians don't suffer this problem because of their light foodie lifestyle, which keep them fresh even in old age for a longer time than non vegetarians'. What's your opinion?

@prakashj256 About Okinawans, when they eat they stop eating when they are 80% full. they dont let their selves to be too full nor too hungry. They are also very social people. Having lots of friends actually increases lifespan.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Even I so have heard a lot of complaint against white sugar and white salt. I am definitely gonna reduce these substances from my food and will replace them by natural products mentioned by you. Thank you for your suggestion.

I believe an excess of meat causes damage to the body but I do not think that eating no meat at all can help a persons longevity.

yes, excess of anything will cause damage to our body. I just want to have a balanced diet of both veg and non veg. I am hopeful it will help my body for good.

@prakashj256 I tried to be vegetarian for a long time and I liked it, but I was lacking some proteins needed. Wish you the best of health.

It will all depend on what the vegetarians eat as many vegetarians eat junk.

Exactly..i really don't like this idea of being a vegetarian. They should rectify their thought and foodie style. They are actually doing a non-veggie work by calling themselves as vegetarian.

I am sure this is true if they lead a healthy lifestyle. I know some vegetarians who live off cheese and carbs.

I don't know. Sometimes I think it is just luck. My mum lived until she was 90 but ate rubbish most of her life.

@sprite1950 that's nice to hear. We need both veg and non-veg for our body. It's actually a good feel that you are fit at the age of 67. I wish you all the best for a fit and good health for coming years.

To be honest, your mommy was very strong. Not all person gets rewarded with this much of life after eating freely. I can't risk my life like your mommy. I am not that much strong. I want to have a balanced dietary system in my life.

For me, if it is your time to die, it is time to die regardless if you are healthy or not, vegetarian or not.

Yes that's true, I just want to stay fit in my old age. I don't want to die as an injury prone person.

Even i heard this theory but , when we hear about the life span of people who are not from India its amazing , they are living more that 90 years and they eat meat and we now a days life span in decreasing drastically..

It's because of bad lifestyle. If we keep our life with simple food and regular exercise then we can also live long. One has to change his/her taste and should accept what is good for body, not what is good for mind.
