Lately I found sometimes there will be an error message in Mylot. Such as if I want to reply to a discussion, sometimes such kind of error page will be available. I need to reload the page so that this error will be gone. Do you have the same problem? I have waited for some days but it seems this problem is still available in my side.

I have been getting this error page in Firefox (but not in Chrome) ever since the last update to the browser. It indicates that the communication between the browser and the server is too slow and that the browser hasn't responded quickly enough. It can be due to a problem with the server but, in this case, it looks as though it's a problem with a particular browser version (though it can also happen, of course, with a slow Internet connection). I suggest that you try using another browser. As I say, I have no problems at all with Chrome.

How strange it is! I am using Chrome and I continuously get this error page. Since Chrome works well and I am not going to use another browser yet.

@youless There are so many variables in an Internet connection (not the least being that you may be using a VPN, since you are from China, or that your DNS resolution may be affected by the filters which your country imposes). Whatever the reason for the slowness of communication in your case, it seems unlikely that it's a problem with the myLot server, even though myLot may be the only site which you notice to be giving you problems!

@owlwings Mylot is not banned in my country. And in the past this error problem was not available. By the way, I almost can't recognize you since you changed your new avatar

@owlwings already explained. I get this message time by time when I have too many tabs opened and another software running. The communication becomes too slow, I get this message.

I got that once recently, it may be the right explanation for it.

@topffer I am sure that it is when the server does not wait enough to communicate with the final user.

@LadyDuck Open tabs do consume memory (reserved by the browser for cacheing) but shouldn't (theoretically) affect the speed with which a browser responds to requests from a server, which is what seems to be happening here. What goes on 'under the hood', however, is much more complex than most people imagine and a lot depends on what priority an application assigns to all the tasks it has to perform. I won't deny, either, that the myLot server may not be waiting long enough for some slower connections to respond. It mighr be possible for @mylotbugs to tweak that but I don't know how feasible that would be. In my case (with Firefox only, and not with Chrome), I only see the error page when I try to open a discussion. I don't get it in any of the 'Explore' listings or with Notifications or any other menu item.

I am sure that this only happened when I had too many tabs opened.

So far I did not experience this. Whenever I had this, I always check my Internet connection or keep refreshing the page because sometimes myLot experience downtime too.
