My music posts are heading out of the 1980s slowly and I can tell you when we finally do step into the 1990s the bigger music experts here on myLot will have to explain certain things to me but I still have this post and one more to go. In 1988 the biggest song was “Faith” by George Michael. The song spent four weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This song was written by George Michael and became the number one single of this year in the U.S The Song of the Year was “Somewhere Out There” by Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram. It won the award for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television. . The song can be found in the wonderful animation movie “An American Tale” which I really enjoy. It’s so cute when the mice sing looking out at the night. The best song of the year is among my favorite songs “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses. I don’t know why this song particularly pleased me but it does. It is on their debut album Appetite for Destruction and was the third single from the album. What do you think of these songs and the artists? What is your favorite?

I don't know any of these. We're getting into the time when we have very limited access to radio stations and no TV.

I am not a fan of any of these songs or artists (except Linda's solo stuff in the 70's). George Michael has a couple of ok songs. Faith is a catchy, decent song. Good luck on your continuing music countdown. After the mid 80's my knowledge becomes obsolete
