I am hungry. I had to live on a 16 oz. Pepsi cola with cherry all day and when my wife let me sample a spoonful of freshly made potato salad, it made me only more hungry but we have to wait. It takes time to fully cook a frozen pack of ribs. Yes, they are barbecue ribs. Nobody I know doesn't eat them with BBQ sauce, baked in the oven until falling from the bones tender. It's been a day of planting a rose bush and having to deal with pesky back yard squirrels getting on our front porch and digging around the potted tomatoes. I fixed it though. Placed rocks all around the two tomato plants. Now I'd like to see those dopey squirrels try to dig at them!

I might need to put the plants on a platform on a pole 10 feet in the air, but that would make it kind of hard for me to water and harvest them. LOL

They probably will, hopefully they'll give up quickly and look for something else to dig up, hopefully not your rose bush. Your ribs sounds delicious, so does the potato salad. It must be almost spring if we're talking potato salad now. Oh wait, it is spring. I'm seeing snow still, though it's almost melted with our warm temps and rain.

Here in Dallas it is lots warmer than up north where you are. I know it sounds like bragging, but I would trade some more cold weather from up north to the heat in mid-day here. It can go down in the 50's at night and by noon the next day reach the low 80s. This is Texas and the weather varies day by day.

@lookatdesktop My granddaughter and great grandchildren live in Austin. I wouldn't want your weather. It's too hot for me. I would be happy to share my cooler weather with you.

My husband loves ribs, might through them in the cooker tomorrow morning with some BBQ sauce. We have some running around to do. Hope those little pests stay out of the tomatoes now. Our problem is woodchucks and deer here more. Thou we are still waiting for Spring to even get outside.

@Ithink Here in Big D, it's supposed to get up to 88 tomorrow afternoon. Quite a rise in temperature from today's early morning cold spell.

I have heard about mesh for rabbits. I donĀ“t know it that works for squirrels.

Mesh might do it. I need to create an enclosure like an open green house with screen wire. That will take lots of material and time and energy that I at the moment don't really have much of. But I do know a screened in area would keep them critters out.

@lookatdesktop I am glad we have no squirrels close to the garden, but slugs eat the lettuce and the strawberries in summer.

@LadyDuck What do you have to use to kill the slugs?

I will give it another round this spring but if I fail again I might have to just build a green house.

The squirrels, although some people refer them to as pretty looking rats, they are not! They are more advanced mammal creatures. They are here on earth to plant seeds for trees. So they deserve to eat all the acorns I have cause I ain't gonna pick them up. I got no time for it.

Lately I have resorted to smoking my BBQ ribs, but I put the smoker out of commission since the last thing I smoked which were two turkeys for Thanksgiving. You cannot argue with BBQ ribs, smoked or not. As for the squirrels, having been in pest control for many years in my past life...they will prove to be rather resourceful, so I hope it works out for you. Maybe you could trap them and then eat them? I hear they are good with BBQ sauce as well, lol

Okay, but don't eat too fast. It takes lots of chewing to master the art of eating those baby back ribs. Yes, my wife told me they are not actually spare ribs. As a matter of fact, there are few left to spare.
