Working From Home Can Have It's Drawbacks

I know many of us work from home in some fashion. We sell on eBay, maybe Bonanza, OfferUp, and write for places and earn money, etc and this is all good. Maybe we just are doing this part time along with our jobs. But there are some drawbacks as many people forget about real life and getting out there and Socializing and also getting out there and walking around and doing stuff. Yes, Facebook, etc is great but the problem becomes when all you do is sit home and eat and never get out, and then you put on a lot of extra weight. Many in here I am sure have experienced that, and it could happen for those who spend a lot of their day posting in here. But when you put on the extra weight a lot of times that could mean more Health issues later on as well. So what do you do to keep active so you do not gain a lot of extra weight when working from home? Do you have a routine you follow that helps keep you active? ~~TINA~~

I follow a very strict and healthy diet - I also fast - so I do not gain weight , even though I work from home. I have my favorite treats on special occasions - and when I feel like going out or if I must go out I do. It is nice being my own boss.

Being my own boss is awesome as well. Nothing better than being able to learn to set times to get the things done you need too in order to earn the money you need, and the satisfaction that comes when you achieve it

Only time me and my boyfriend are not very active is in the winter and times like right now when we are getting dumped on by snow like we have the last couple days. We have over 16” here. Any other time like summer we are very active outcanoei g and camping and I still manage to get my online stuff done.

No, and while school is in session, working takes care of most of that for me. In the summer I need to do yard work and walk and just enjoy the sunshine. It is likely that work at home will stay a side gig for me, and work at school will take a lot of my energy. It keeps me healthier, though.

Well when you work for someone else you are guaranteed a paycheck which is a plus. Having other ways to earn some extra money is always nice too.

Yes, working out if you can Health wise is always a Good thing. I try to do a lot of walking and many times watch what I eat which seems to help for me quite a bit.

That's why you don't see much of me here. I'm out living life.

Yes, lately I can agree with that one. Am too busy doing other things to take the time to just sit at home all day. Taking some time today to catch up here some before I am off and running most of the next couple of days again.

@KrauseHome Real life is more important, but I'm here for 35 minutes before we go out to dinner with friends. Trying to make every minute count. Lol!

There is no way I can still still all day to work online. I can work a while then come back in a few hours. Nope I do not allow the online life to make me fat or a hermit.

I do have a good routine I follow, since most of my life is right here. I start each day, when possible, at the YWCA in the pool for an hour and in the fitness center on the eliptical for a few minutes. I just started that and am slowly working my way up to 10 minutes and then up to half an hour. So, I'm up at 3 AM every day except weekends and holidays, and blizzards.

Wow... Many times I am still up at 3 AM your time, which is 1 AM here. I am a night person though. Usually sleep from 3 to 9 or 10. Glad you have a routine like this that helps keep you active

I suppose I don't really spend hours in front of the computer and I do watch what I eat.

I work from home because I want to stay active and be able to spend time with family. I take care of grandbabies so parents can work, homeschool my youngest, and coach her softball team. The only drawback I have found is that I have wasted tons of time trying to find something that actually pays.

I think it can cause health issues and mental issues, too. It is not good for the mind and soul if we don't go out of the house and we don't meet people in real life.

I normally clean a lot and dance around. Also in nice weather, I garden, hike and well just love being outside. I'm working on getting healthier as the last 4 years had been pretty rough. It is hard thou especially with homeschooling on pacyber.

I would never exchange my real life of meeting people for sitting with my computer or smart phone.

thankfully, phones can go online as well as laptops/tablets so we can do writing / social media from anywhere, and can switch from sitting, standing and laying. not just doing one or another. I go out to the stores, for walks when its nice, the gym when I feel like it, babysit, and just don't sit around all the time just because I'm online. heck half the time I'm watching something I'm up doing something at the same time. lol. I also haven't gained weight in 3 years. And only have in the past from birth control.
