Impossible day

I did tackle that huge closet. I did not only go through all my hanging clothing but what is in the tubs too, I did not do this in the closet, I filled my bed with my clothes and I tried on things. If I loved it, I put it back. I have the get rid of pile but I need another tub for the winter clothes. Then I got to Tony`s closet, smaller but I did the same, took out his old clothes and put away his good clothing that does not fit at the moment, he gained weight. I need another tub/tote for his winter clothes and his hunting clothes. I stopped around 6:30 pm to get busy cooking. Turkey. I cut this turkey up, just like you would a chicken. I fried one breast for dinner with the salad, I put the other one in foil and on the grill, I panned up the legs and wings, covered them with foil and onto the grill. I boiled the bones and what meat was n them for a nice broth. The giblets are boiled and are cooling, I will freeze those for a gravy later in the year. Usually Sunday I have the house spotless, but not today! How was your day?

@andriaperry I am, but now the garden is out of control and may need to come first. I'm finally learning that my gardener who quit actually did more than I realized -- not just mow and go.

@bagarad That is true, more than just mowing, when I used to do landscaping I pulled weeds and trimmed bushes, planted flowers and laid down mulch, picked up rocks and leaf removal.

You seem to be so busy cleaning and tidying up the house on Sundays. I also do the cleaning of our bedroom in the afternoon, after hubby has taken his nap.

@andriaperry I do too before. But now I slowed down. I get tired easily. Besides, I realized we wouldn;t die if I haven't cleaned the room thoroughly after a week.

I am donating many pants of my husband. He lost a lot of weight, but those are still very good. I brought to charities.

I've got 2 turkeys in the freezer, and we'll eat one of them in the next few weeks. Those Thanksgiving sales help a lot.

@andriaperry I need to do that again myself. One of the kids didn't close the freezer very well the other day and everything got very frosted up.

Well it didn't go as planned, I wanted to get up and do the pantry and such to give Ron some food. However I got up and my throat was on fire and nose just running. So sat around all day, watched movies with the family. Now listening to some documentaries on health while mylotting.

I did a lot of cleaning this week so my house looks pretty good. My boyfriend picked out a dress for me to wear when we go to dinner tomorrow night. I saw a neat idea s few days ago to turn the hangers backwards as they are worn and then after a certain amount of time to donate anything you have worn. I don't intend to get rid of the clothes but by turning them backward I can make sure the clothes are fresh and that I am not wearing the same clothes day after day.

I rested most of the day, we had leftovers for lunch, and we sorted the junk mail that's been accumulating on a chair late this afternoon. I couldn't stand it anymore. My husband throws anything he wants to read later there. I continued to sort while we watched a TV program. Then I made one change to the taxes I thought I'd finished and printed it. Then I went to myLot. The rest of today's adventures are in my posts.

Today was the shred event at our bank that I've been watching out for, so I eliminated four bags worth of old papers. Most of it was business related from ten years back and before then, but I also found copies of old bills from when we were first married eons ago. I discovered that the bank does this in the spring and fall. I've made the spring one the past few years, but never knew when to watch for the fall one. Now that I know the month, I'll be sure to monitor the info page online. I hope to go through more papers both in an extra room upstairs and in the basement so I can get rid of even more. Then eventually, I'll need to reorganize my filing for I'll have a five drawer filing cabinet a lot emptier than it's been in a long time. I'm also hoping to work on rearranging the room that holds my desktop and business stuff that's current. It's something I've wanted to do for a month now, but I get more done when hubby isn't watching tv in the other room. I've tried just about every wall and when it's sunny the sun hits the monitor making it difficult for me to do anything when the weather is nice. It would help if I'd find and install valances for my windows, that would cut out a lot of the extra glare. I don't know that I'll ever get any for in here though. I heard years ago regarding going thorough one's closets that if a garment hasn't been worn in X amount of time to get rid of it. I think the general consensus is six months. I don't stick to that since I wear a uniform most days and may not need certain things all the time. Even so, I do hope to go through drawers and closets to wean things out myself.

It would be worth a less than spotless house to have all that work done on your closets. Good for you.

Making good use of a bird, I see. Yeah, the wife and I spent a little time on Saturday going through clothes to determine what gets stowed and what gets donated or tossed, and what goes back into the "summer" supply.
