Mother's Day trip to New York City!

I am so excited! Our daughter just made arrangements for she and I, along with her grown daughter to have a girls' weekend in New York City for Mother's Day.
We'll leave on Thursday and return on Sunday. Can't wait to see the sights and enjoy lots of good eating. The last time I was there was when I was 13, living in Jersey City, NJ and went with my grandmother.
She was fearless. We'd get to the top of grand buildings, sometimes to find construction workers still building them!
I remember how good the pizza was. This southern girl never did learn to enjoy my sodas with practically no ice, though.
We're hoping to go to a Broadway show and do a little shopping. My granddaughter and I will be flying together and my daughter will meet us there.
Unless plans change, I'll write all about it when we get home.
I gotta start packing. Or at least planning what I'll take. Getting ready for a vacation is part of the fun for me.
The only down side is I'll miss my husband. Can't remember the last time we were apart for four days. But he wants me to have a good time and he'll have plenty around here to keep him busy. He said that between Hardison's BBQ restaurant and Bo Jangles, he'll be fine.

Life is for having fun I say and if you have a chance to go on a trip like that go for it and how.

Sounds like a terrific time awaits you on a very special day! A Broadway show should be great fun and perhaps you can renew your acquaintance with Northern pizza again. Just remember to ask for extra ice with that soda.

Wow!! This is a Nice Surprise and trip. Sounds like a lot of Fun, I loved NYC when I was there almost 11 yrs ago, and would Love to go back sometime

This sounds like a wonderful treat. When I was growing up my Mother, Grandmother, and I would go to New York City. We had a very nice time. By the way, your hair looks beautiful.

@1creekgirl It takes a little less than four hours unless you are making stops. Yes, I have fantastic memories. Your hair looks like someone could run their fingers through, and it would still stay the same. If you like bagels, you must get NYC bagels. They are the best.

She really is a wonderful daughter. I'm so glad my granddaughter is going with us...she loves New York also.
