Going to Kent (extended pause) Ohio.

United States
April 16, 2018 9:49pm CST
Facebook is useful for some things. Like planning a mini girls trip over the end of July. I came across a post about a town in Ohio that makes over one of it's streets in the style of Diagon Alley (Harry Potter Reference) and suggested a little trip with two of my friends. We've settled a few things over a few back and forth messages. We've already booked a place to stay (airbnb) and have a working itinerary for what to do over the two day affair. Kent, Ohio is about six hours away from me and my best friend assures me she "knows just where that's at" her having lived in Ohio. So we shall see, though I trust she won't get us lost of course. Do you have anything planned for the summer? I can not completely ensure a speedy response.

I do not usually plan anything for the summer either. Atleast not anything out of the State.

Still to early yet to say if we will do anything Fun. A lot of it depends on the amount of time we would have Free to get to go do something more than just a day trip somewhere. But yours does sound like fun.

Yes, it's hard to get everyone's schedule to match. I don't work outside of the home at the moment, and so I am pretty well able to go at anytime. However, My two friends work M-F and on different shifts at that! Luckily they have the weekends off, so we will leave extra early on Saturday to enjoy the mid afternoon and evening in Ohio.

That is so cool. There is a street about to hours from me that does the same thing. It's a bigger city so I am a little nervous about driving there. Also it's all outdoors the events and in October which is too chilly here most the time to be outdoors.

I was considering looking for something a bit closer for another little trip. Something where we might be able to stay longer because it's not as far away... Also probably one where my friend's S/O's can come along because one of them was pouting that he wasn't allowed to the all girls weekend.

I'm pleased you clarified Ohio. Kent here claims to be the Garden of England, but if so, that garden is blighted by weeds and creepy crawlies.

I despise creepy crawlies myself. I'm not sure when Kent, Ohio was founded but I assume the person to first establish the town was from somewhere in Kent, England. Kent is comprised of several townships, isn't it?

@Poppylicious Well those kind of creepy crawlies are even worse! Oh okay, and if I'm not mistaken that's in the lower half of England? I used to watch a person youtube who did videos from somewhere in Kent, but I can't remember where.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It's a county. Famous for Canterbury, Broadstairs and the White Cliffs of Dover. By creepy-crawlies I meant the human kind!
