Coffee is good for your heart

In a report on tonight's TV news, the "health experts" have done one of their famous U turns. From telling us that coffee is evil, and we should avoid it at all costs as it will cause heart problems, they are now saying the opposite. Now, three cups of coffee a day is acceptable and in fact can even help ward off heart disease and stroke. I love my coffee, and I intend to keep drinking it any way, but it's good to know that it now has the official tick of approval ... at least, until the "experts*" change their minds again. (*What's the definition of an "expert?" Well, an "ex" is a has-been, and a "spurt" is a drip under pressure.)

I am Italian, I drink coffee since I was a young kid (6 years old), I have never been sick during all my life. I never listen to those food trends (the eggs are bad, then the eggs are good again). I eat and drink what I like.

I used to love coffee but when I had a stroke several years ago, I suddenly went off it and now I can't stomach it at all. On the other hand, I had never liked tea and now I really enjoy a good strong cuppa. The continual conflicts of expert opinion are not helpful. I like to think that all things are okay in moderation.

I love coffee and don't have a heart condition. Both my late father-in-law and my husband have a heart condition. They both can't drink coffee. It has a bad effect.

I enjoy a good cup of coffee, and usually have 2 or 3 a day. More then that would be too much, most things are fine in moderation.

Yes my father went for years eating only egg whites after a heart attack. Now they are a super food!

It is really annoying when they keep changing their minds about the health benefits of various foods. I ignore them all now - especially the ones I don't wish to know about!

I hardly pay attention anymore to what the "experts" say since you are right. They change their minds all the time. There are some days I am not sure which way is up anymore.

I think certain foods do not affect us all the same way. If I decided to drink coffee at night I would be up all night - but a friend of mine has it strong and black and it does not seem to affect her. I have one cup of decaf mostly - but the health experts say that whether decaf or not - coffee can cause digestive problems.

I definitely agree. Whilst all our bodies have the same basic structures and functions, we are not like machines where you can say that the same model will function the same way. We are far more unique and complex than that.
