Not What I Thought

Okay, yesterday when I turned on the weather to see what was happening out there, I saw the record breaking total, and automatically assumed it was for Green Bay. BEEP!
I turned on the weather this morning and got the detailed report along with the snow totals for all the cities around Northeast Wisconsin. The greatest snowfall - 36.6 inches happened in a city up in Door County, about an hour from here up the thumb of Wisconsin. Green Bay got 24.2 inches, still breaking the second oldest record. Still records were broken and we probably won't see another blizzard like this one for a long time. Unless this is a result of global warming and we can expect more blizzards like this one in the future. In that case, I will never complain. Two feet of snow, still looks good, and it's a reminder of what it was like when I was growing up.
The good news. I risked life and limb and walked over to the office this morning to ask again if they would dig me out. They are plowing today and my car was totally stuck, and I don't own a shovel.
I say I risked life and limb because the ice is at least an inch thick on all surfaces - sidewalks and parking lot. I had help from two maintenance people to help me across the parking lot to my building, and I saw they were digging out my car. And the best news, they will move it for me so I don't need to and risk falling on that ice when it comes time to move the cars so they can plow. That's really good news, so I detached the apartment keys from my car keys and gave them my keys so they could move the car for me.
Enjoy this picture of the drift in front of my window that is almost as high as my window.
How is your day going? Thanks for reading.

My gosh, that is insane. I know some people were complaining about it snowing, but that is a whole different story. Stay safe and warm!

@DesirousDreamer It was different going to the pool this morning. There were mountains of snow on the curbs.

Wow, that's a lot of snow! We had a lot of rain and some freezing rain but thankfully no snow. I hope this is the end on this kind of weather for this year. We will have sunshine and warmer weather on Saturday. Take care!

@just4him Yes, freezing rain is really bad and I try to be very cautious navigating it.

I'm so happy the maintenance men took care of moving the car. It's treacherous!

That is crazy. Doesn't the snow know it's spring? Hope that stuff all melts away soon and stay safe.

Boy am I glad I'm not in the northeast, I have never seen more than 21 inches of snow and that happened in January of 1988 and hasn't happened again, thank goodness. I complain about the winds here because they dry out everything but I suppose that's better than freezing my tail off.

Woah! You could open the window and stick cans of soda in for extra fridge room. lol.
Happy you were ok walking to the office - if you are in an apartment they should willingly do that.

@mlgen1037 Our temps today are in the 40's F and the snow is starting to melt. You can't see a lot of change yet in the snow mountains, but the ground is wet. It's a perfect temp.

We didn't get much snow, but we got several days of freezing rain and then rain and then colder temps. Why can't you just call the office to request that help rather than chancing falling on the ice on the way over there? Nice that the maintenance folks were willing to move your car for you.
I'm the main shovel-er at my house and I have one at the front door and one at the back. Today, I got out a garden shovel to work on the extra snow at the end of the driveway left there by the plows.I got some of the big sections of snow out of the way, but I couldn't do all of it at once. It may melt the rest of the day as the temps go up some by this weeken.d
