Hello everyone. They say running is a good exercise to lose weight. There are apps and a lot of regimens that includes running for losing the extra pounds. My question is, is running good for overweight people's knees? What do you think is a good exercise to lose weight?

Running is a great form of exercise but i think for those who have more weight slow jogging or even pace walking can be a solution. i know for the elderly who have arthritis brisk walking is advice as their joins would hurt after running.

Running is not at all good for everyone and obese people risk a lot running, first a heart attack, second knees and feet injuries but also back injuries. I walk, it's a much better exercise.

It depends on how overweight is the people. If it is only a few pounds, it is okay to run. If someone is very overweight, walking is recommended (later it can be walking-running activity). And diet is also very important to lose weight.

Running is not good for overweight people. It puts stress on their knees and feet, but more importantly it puts alot of stress on their heart. Overweight people are more susceptible to heart attack than people who only have a few pounds to lose or run to maintain good cardiovascular health.

I think running (or jogging) is helpful in losing weight. My friend is a living testimony. Walking also is good plus eating fruits and veggies. I think discipline and determination helps too.

Depends if you are overweight or obese. If former running is fine but with ladder you still can run but its best to try mixing it with other cardio.

I think overweight people can try walking first and then jogging before deciding to have running as their daily exercise.

The thing with me is that, even years ago when I was quite overweight, I could still walk over ten miles within a day with no problem. But now that I'm thinner, I still can't run far without having to stop because I'm huffing and puffing too much. Lately I've been mostly walking, but I am running a little bit here and there in order to develop more stamina.
