Poor Doodles the Cat

We don't know what is wrong with Doodles. He went to the vet last week. She thinks he has arthritis in his right elbow, which causes him to lift his right paw. His knee clicks when he walks. Monday, we brought him in for blood tests and X-rays. Tomorrow we will get the results. He goes outside, but turns around and comes right back indoors. His cat ibuprofen didn't do anything. He's on opioids now to relieve his pain and to sedate him, but it isn't doing the trick. He's still eating like a piggy, and thank goodness for that. We adore Doodles so much and have been so worried. My heart hasn't been on anything except him, not even myLot. I'm so sorry. I pray his test results aren't more serious and whatever is wrong with him can be treated. I love him so much. We all do.

Poor Doodles. I always think that if animals continue to eat the problem hopefully isn't serious. I start to worry when they go off their food. How old is he now? I know he'll have every care and attention from you.

Awww, I'm so sorry Doodles is feeling poorly, I sure do hope he'll be better very soon .... at least he has an appetite, that's a good sign

@rebelann Not at all. The vet called today. She is sending a detailed email. I wrote a post. My eyes are burning so much from crying that I may crawl into bed in a few minutes.

Poor kitty. Is he elderly? I had a Himalayan cat who developed profound arthritis in her hips. The Vet said that Himi cats are large breed and arthritis is pretty usual for large breed cats. Most people only think about it in dogs but yup, cats get it too. Doodles is such a cute name.

Praying Doodles feels better. Mittens one of the ferals we feel has a white chest like doodles and a little white on each paw and solid dark gray every where else. Will answer to the name but still won't let you get close

@hereandthere He jumped off a counter with wet paws and slid on tile floors. He needed surgery. Poor thing.

I hope the test results come back with good news and the treatment will take care of the problem. It's so hard to see our pets go through health issues. I know how much you love him. He's part of you.

Oh no how terrible. He is a treasured member of your family so I imagine you are worried sick. I will check another recent post to see if there is any updates.
