A Jojo Moyes book I didn't realise I had

I mentioned in a comment recently that I might need to find one of Jojo Moyes books to read as I’ve been hearing so many good things about them. So I was fossicking (searching) through my bookshelves for a book to take to the festival we’re going to and found a title that appealed and blow me down the author is Jojo Moyes. The book is called ‘The Ship of Brides’. I’ve no idea how I came by it. Has anybody read it? Another bit of information about the festival – they have a ‘little library’ there – just a box on legs set in amongst the marquees with a dozen or so books in it. You can take one and return it or replace a book with one of your own. It’s a great idea.

There are quite a few of these little libraries around these days. I actually saw one in someone's yard. Maybe I should have one in my yard. I could certainly fill it up.

@JudyEv That wouldn't bother me as much as it might my neighbors. Maybe there's a rule against it where I live. I don't know. I just wouldn't know how to build something to put it in. Also, I would be afraid of vandals. We have some rowdy teens in this area.

@bagarad Yes, the vandals are always a problem aren't they? If you have them that is. That's one good thing about being out of sight of the main road and out of town.

That might be nice as long as you don't mind people coming into your yard to check out the books.

@JudyEv I have books like that that have been on my shelves as long and I haven't read them yet. I always intend to, and sooner or later I will get to reading them.

@just4him You sound like me. I'm trying not to buy any more until I've read the ones I have.

@snowy22315 I'd love to have a room lined with books like you see in the movies in the old mansions.

Though I have heard so much about Jojo Moyes,I have not read Me Before you yet.I think I should.By the way,I looked up your Australian word 'fossicking' ('' searching ''). I have not read The Ship Of Brides, either. It seems to be the story of Australian War Brides.I think it is a good idea, taking a book and replacing it with one of your own books.

Several here have been talking about Me Before You and another one of hers that I can't remember. No-one has mentioned this yet, at least I don't think they have.

Was that a Jojo Moyes one? I usually cry at some stage when I read a book.

Is this a new or an old book? It's the first time I've seen this book.

It was first published in 2005 so I guess even that is starting to get old isn't it? The years go by so quickly.

@judyev The verb to fossick is a splendid one indeed. It nearly sounds rude.

I didn't realise it was Aussie speak. There are few that people have queried. To 'cop' something is another one.

If you can, try an ebook. I never travel without mine. It has a couple of hundred books on it, so I have something to read no matter my mood. Couse, it does have to be books I really like as I've read them before, mostly
