A man-made rainbow and see you on Monday

Vince belongs to several online photo groups and from time to time they have ‘challenges’ or even competitions. Today’s challenge was anything to do with water. So we drove down our paddock, switched on the sprinklers and Vince was able to create his own rainbow effect in the streams of water. Isn’t it pretty? This will be my last post till we get back from the Fairbridge Music Festival sometime on Monday. I hope the intervening days go well for you.

Very nice photo Did you looked for the pot of gold? I wish you a nice music festival, with no rain.

That would be brilliant if you could create your own rainbow complete with a pot of gold at the end of it.

@topffer @WorDazza I didn't look for a pot of gold. I would have got wet.

Most of the rainbows I see are this type these days. Rain is scarce. Have a great time at the festival.

@judyev Well if you can’t get a real one just make one. I do hope the weather isn’t at all pluvial at the festival. Enjoy.

@prakashj256 @migen1037 I think if you stand between the sun and water sprinkling like this or even from a hose you will see a rainbow form. You have to have the light (or sun) coming from behind you.

There isn't really a secret. Apparently you just need the light (sun) behind you. and water in front. Sounds simple, doesn't it?

The festival went pretty well thanks apart from wrecking the annex on the caravan. But it will be okay. We'll get it fixed.

@porwest We had a lot of thunder and lightning and a few quite strong wind gusts. One gust got under the awning of the caravan, broke a fitting on one of the legs and the whole roof and other leg went over the top of the caravan. Luckily it didn't damage the van but the awning will need to be replaced. It is insured but there is still an excess to pay and we'll lose our no-claim bonus. Could be worse.
