Love in a strange place

January 1, 2015 when everyone was shouting happy new year. I got a msg from a guy tell me that our 1year 3months relationship is over. It felt like I should kill myself. Fell ill, but my girls friends try to make me forget but it wasn't easy. Sometime late February 2015, Kels (one of my girlfriends) boyfriend came to our flat to invite us for a surprise birthday party of his childhood friend in March 12 and it was an all white party. Was still hurt and didn't want to go. On that day, I was forced to go by my girlfriends, they got everything I wore on that day. It was a nice and classy birthday party, I sat at a corner while my girlfriends and their boyfriends went dancing to the cool music. A guy walked up to me and sat down by my side, he talked for like 20mins and I didn't say a word. After he didn't get any word from me, he then said 'from the look of things, you are hurting. One truth, no one can take away your happiness except you give it to them'. That word ran through my spine to my head and he was about to stand up and I told him my name. He sat down and we started talking, he made me laugh that night and when it was time to cut the cake he stood up, I didn't know he was the birthday boy, he held my hand and said he wants me to cut the cake with him, that to him it is a birthday but for me it is my happiness cake. I didn't know when a tear rolled from my face but it didn't mess up my make up lol. We became friends, he travelled back to the States but kept calling, video calling, chats and emails. I learnt he bearly comes back to Nigeria but to my surprise he started coming like every 4months to see me and help me out with my studies. April 26, 2016 at around 3am he woke me up from sleep with a video call, with my sloppy eye and my scattered hair (I went to bed without a sleeping net) I picked and he said I know u would have received your birthday gift before now but still I want to say Happy Birthday Cocoa Berry (that has been the name he do call me) and i want to ask you something, no thinking, no stalling and I won't take no for an answer. Cocoa Berry would you be my one true love, I was so shocked. And I like him too, I said yes. And he screamed on the phone like he won the lottery lol. Onyebuchi Diamond Dominic aka Diamondbrat, you have been there for me when I thought I have lost it all. You showed me what trust is and love is real. You taught me how to be independent and how to turn sadness to smiles. You introduced me to steemit, mylot.com even though you ain't in it. You thought me about cryptocurrency and how it works, you proved to me that an average girl like me can end up with a classy guy like you. You proved to me that A Royal Igbo Blood can love a Yoruba Girl. You introduced me to your siblings as your girlfriend knowing to well that I wasn't on the same level with your ex. You are my joy and happiness, no matter how you want to propose, I am giving you my answer in advance and it is YES I am in love with the most stubborn, troublesome, game freak, geek, cartoon lover, nicest, sweetest, kind, compassionate, caring, handsome and faithful guy.
