A small library & an opera house have this in common

Both of these buildings have the US - Canadian borders running right through them. Part of the buildings are in Vermont USA and the other parts are in Quebec Canada. People who visit the tiny library have had fun in the past looking at the big border tape line that runs right through it. They have taken pictures and made it a must see tourist destination. Then after 9/11 and immigrants trying to cross into the countries, a US homeland security vehicle sits outside the library 24 hours a day everyday. The whole article is fascinating reading. I honestly didn't know these places existed until last night when I happened to see the article.
The Haskell library straddles two nations, with one foot in the US and the other in Canada.

Wow! What an astonishing thing to know....A library belonging to two countries...how about the staff there and the salaries they are getting? I will go through the link to get more details! Thanks a lot for providing such an interesting piece of information! Thanks @LeaPea2417 !

@LeaPea2417 I'm sure it did. Mine too. It's good both places don't need a passport to enjoy the opera and the library, or border guards, though the article did say they are present.

Yes, you could put one foot on one side and the other foot on the other side.

@LeaPea2417 I wonder which country the employees have to pay taxes to? Hopefully not both!
