Some Parents Untold Truth

Hello everyone, today is a new day and going to be a great day. I will try and drop my introductory post today so everyone can know me better. Well, before that why do parents lie? Strange right but it is the truth, why do they like to us. This happens in all African parents, they always tell us their kids that they were the best in their classes. If everyone was the best in their class who is now the dumbest or are they trying to tell us that non of them were not smart. Another why is it that when our parents are very low on cash they don't tell us, they put up a fake smile and try to provide what they normally provide when they are cashed up. Do they think when we were kids that we won't understand when they tell us they are broke. Another why to some parents, mine is included tells us that they were sit partners with one public figure or lived next door to one public figure. My Parents lied to me about Santa and tooth fairy. And they made me believe there is a happily ever after. It hurts to find out all these weren't true. Some would call this love or Motivation but it is nothing but a lie. If u tell a lie you need 2 to cover that one up, when you tell 2 lies you need 4 to cover it up etc. What did your parents tell you and when you grew older you found out that it was a lie?

i think parents just try their best to not disappoint us just to see the smiles on our faces hoping that their lie doesn't catch up with them.

I guess you are right, when we were kids we look up to our parents so they have to paint a perfect picture for us.

That doesn't just happen with African parents. Even those in my country does that. Maybe they lie to us so we wouldn't be upset if we found out the truth?

@Tutufaith Or maybe they think that we're too dumb to know that they're lying to us

Well, basically same as yours but I wont really get mad at them for lying. Maybe they said those things because it was easier for your brain to understand and telling the truth is something that you cant understand in your young mind.

I am not mad at them but I know we were understanding as kids. So if they had told us the truth it won't hurt.

@Tutufaith hahaha different strokes for different folks. I do not want to ruin their childhood. But for serious ones, that I would want the children to know because they are not oblivious.

I think parents lie just to invent an answer when faced with a hard question. Sometimes parents lie so that kids will stop asking. It could also be because they have a hidden motive. As a child, I was once told that rice will come out of my wound I I do not clean it well or if it does not heal properly.

Lol about the rice stuff. I still remembered when my dad lost his job my mom told us that he was on leave after like 3months of staying at home, my dad started working for another company.
