Our featured video today will be introduced by a soap star who turned rock star. He hit it out of the park with this tune #1 hit in 1981. His Australian acting credits included playing Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime drama General Hospital, from 1981 to 1983 and a version of himself on Showtime's "Californication." He received a Grammy Award in 1982 for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for today's J-titled song. The video was a favorite on MTV. So, enjoy this song about Jessie (not a girl btw) who has a girlfriend the singer wishes he had. Even though it's not a girl titled song, play along with the charade, it's a great tune!!! Do you know the songs and artists? Find the answers to the following clues? 1. This group must of had a fondness for dogs. They used the animal term for part of the band's name. Actually that is not true but the name is based on the indigenous Australians who embraced s dogs while sleeping in a hole on very cold nights. The band included three lead singers who shared vocals on their tracks. They earned 12 gold albums and recorded 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits, seven of which went gold. This trivia song earned the group a #1 hit in the U.S. and was popularly known by it's opening lyric, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog". The tune, was described by members of the group as a "kid's song" and was part of "The Big Chill" movie soundtrack. 2. This song was recorded by "The King of Pop" for his "Thriller" album. Quincy Jones who produced the album wanted to name the tune "Not My Lover" because the title of the song was the same first name of a famous tennis star. This track won the 1983 Grammy Award for Best Rhythm & Blues Vocal Performance and Best Rhythm & Blues Song for the writer and artist. This was the song used to shoot the famous Pepsi commercial (with lyrics slightly altered) in 1984, the one where the singers hair caught on fire. 3. This song was originally going to be called 'Indiana Girl" but the band reworked the chorus and came up with a different title. There are two possible interpretations to this song. It is either about the singer's divorce from his wife or about marijuana, since the tune includes lyrics that refer to killing the pain, which the drug is known for. This band originated was at the forefront of the heartland rock movement, alongside artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, and John Mellencamp who arose in the late 1970s and 1980's. Honorable Mention- "Sweet Jane" The Velvet Underground/Lou Reed The song was writen by the group's leader in 1970 and told a surreal look at the life of a rock star. The track was released as a single from the group's "Loaded" album, the title a reference to the record company wanting an LP loaded with hit songs. The artist left the band and went solo after a dispute over leaving out a bridge to the song on the finished product. The song was released later on the singer's Rock n Roll Animal LP, which was a live album. I like this version the best! There is our musical trivia today for J-named women songs. @dgobucks226 I am not familiar with Hearts. They came on the music scene after I listened very little to the radio. Thank you for your help. Is it Mary Jane?

They must’ve liked the “kid’s song” because they did another song written by Hoyt Axton (whose record label was named Jeremiah Records ) — “Never Been to Spain.” And I think song #3 is pretty Petty!!

"And I kinda like the Beatles." Good one I'm thinking Petty was stoned when he wrote #3, lol. He was never one to turn down Mary Jane.....
