What is the birthday exactly? I am of the understanding that Israel has been a country for many thousands of years.

You are right Lucinda, but, on May 14, 1948 we were made a State. According to our Hebrew calendar we have been around 5,000 something years. The date is the English date is when they will be moving the Embassy but our Independence Day here in Israel is celebrated by our Hebrew calendar. We do not have the same date each year.
