Do your children have chores everyday or every week?

I remember growing up and having the same chores every day or every week, depending on the chores.
I was not allowed to go out on the weekends until I dusted the living room and tv room. During the week when I got home from school I had to make any beds that were not done in the morning.
I also started to make dinner and set the table. Come to think of it I don't remember my sister doing any chores. She was 4 years younger than me.
Oh yes, after dinner I always washed the dishes and she dried. We didn't have dishwashers in those days.

Only chores we had was cleaning our own rooms, cleaning up anything of ours in the living-room, and maybe helping separate the laundry. But we were never messy kids, or had too much in the house to have to do much of chores anyways.

I had to dust the living room and vcacume every Saturday. Of course we did our bedroom everyday plus the dishes and set the table. I also washed dishes everyday and set the table for dinner and my sister dried the dishes and put them away.

@ramapo17 we hardly dusted, even now don't really lol. but that's because we don't have any dust besides on the back of the tvs and on the heaters so do that 3-4 times a year. lol

@Courtlynn What about the dust in the rugs or the floor? When we dust the over head fan we have to dust the tables and book cases and other furniture, in the bedrooms and the rest of the house. After that we have to vacuum. It just goes over and over. Lucky my carpet is multi shades of brown and gray so it doesn't show that it needs to be vacuumed. The bad thing is when I start one of these things I have to continue as my allergies are so bad and then I start sneezing and get bad headaches. I can't win.

When I was a kid especially when I started going to school, mom never made us do any household chores. We have the maids to clean our rooms, fix our beds, do our laundry and everything. All she wanted for us was just to study. Thinking about it now, we were very fortunate that we only had to study and not do a thing. Even on weekends.

@ramapo17 My son now is also the same. Our maid does everything. But sometimes I would order him to do things. But he doesn't have any regular household chores at all.

I also did most of the chores at home. I was the oldest of three. I kind of enjoyed making the house look presentable for when my parents got home from work.

They have them every day, although not necessarily the same chores each day (as some only need to be done once a week).
