Where am I?: "Tulsa Time" Eric Clapton (1980)

I have always associated “Tulsa Time” as an Eric Clapton original because of the live version from his 1980 “Just One Night” album that I remember. The sing went to Billboard #30. It was just a cover. “I left Oklahoma, drivin’ in a Pontiac Just about to lose my mind I was goin’ to Arizona Maybe on to California Where the people all live so fine” Songwriter Danny Flowers was writing about being in Hollywood where no is interested in casting you in a movie or wanting to sing your songs. So the singer is thinking about returning home to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Country star Don Williams enjoyed a #1 on the country charts in 1978. That same year Clapton first recorded it for his album “Backless.” Reba McIntire covered “Tulsa Time” in 1995.

That's a good, fun song, regardless of whether it's the Don Williams version or the Eric Clapton version.

Oh, yes I remember this. Lately, when I work on my PC I have been listening to Offshore Music Radio they play the oldies from the 60s 70s and 60s.
