I ate lots of salty foods the past days and have a little pain at my nape. Not sure if this has something to do with blood pressure, as i heard lots of stories that salty foods can make your bp go up. Has anyone experience such a thing?

By eating more than prescribed quantities of salt we are bound to accumulate more water in our body because of the sodium part in it , this is more applicable to the persons those who already have high blood pressure. Together with this the medicines prescribed for blood pressure like diuretics also don't work properly in presence of more salt! Thanks a lot @chavezrmc !

@AKRao24 Thanks for this insights you shared, i know somehow that doctors advice to regulate the salty food intake but i never knew that in just a day of eating this food can cause this pain in the nape. i did try to do a little research. Well anyway i guess its times for check up hehehe.

My uncle is like you. Loves salty food. His Bp shots up to 260 and he met with a brain stroke, leaving him slight facial paralysis. Now he is stable but on salt restricted diet and under medical management. My aunt bought a mercury Bp machine to check his Bp every day. Moral of the story ?

@stapllotik that is my fears. I'm not so sure if really it plays a great part in having this high bp. But understand everything should be in moderation.

the doctors always advice that we reduce the salt we eat when they find out that our blood pressure is a bit elevated so my guess is that it has something to do with it.
