With the bones creaking and the joints aching, I don't need a calendar to tell me that I turned 58 earlier this month. And occasionally I'll read something that makes me glad I'm this old. By now I'm sure most people have heard about the tragedy in Toronto, where a man mowed down a number of pedestrians. As of last night the death toll was ten, with 15 others injured, many critically. You know how the media is: they want answers now, no matter whether any answers exist or not. The Canadian media discovered a post by the suspect where he praised a murderer in California from 2014. The slug in question from 2014 mentioned in a video confession before he began his rampage, citing his inability to, ahem, "get laid" as the reason he was going to kill. Really? With that kind of attitude, there's no wonder he couldn't get a date. The men who claim they are being shunned call it "involuntary celibacy." The abbreviation for it (incel) sounds, coincidentally, like imbecile. Apparently they blame women for not wanting to go out with a guy who thinks she's nothing but a sex toy for him. Maybe these guys need to check into that "sologomy" stuff, where they marry themselves. Apparently they're the only ones who love themselves that much. Yeah, glad I'm old and don't have to look for young suitors anymore. First song that came to mind:
