Not A Smart Move on my Part

United States
April 24, 2018 5:28pm CST
I was cooking dinner and put a bag of microwavable vegetables into the microwave. Normally I don't use these but they were on sale and are quick and easy. When the microwave beeped I was distracted and pulled the bag out and zipped it open forgetting about the steam. Holy Mackerel that steam burned my finger and it's red and sore. When they say that accidents happen at home it's so true. If I wasn't distracted this never would have happened. Lucky me that it wasn't more serious.

That sucks. Steam burns are terrible, I get them every time I open up a bag of popcorn haha!

I'm very familiar with the steam burns from a bag of popcorn. And yet I never seem to learn @Marilynda1225 I hope all is well.

I use microwave steamable veggies often. You need to let the bag sit for at least a minute before you open them.

Ouch! I'm sure we've all done something like that at one time or another, due to distractions. I hope your finger feels better soon.

That had to hurt! Hope you are okay now. Would have been better if the bag would have exploded in the microwave instead. At least it would have been better for your finger.

@Marilynda1225 I am sorry it is so sore. When distracted we do not pay attention to what we are doing.

Yikes, you have to watch that steam! The worst at home burn I had was from pop tarts I was taking out of the toaster..I am wary of those steaming vegetables, and popcorn.

Oh I'm sorry. Yeah, we get distracted once in awhile. Good thing though it was a minor one.

Ouch, I find that steam burns are the worst they really take a long time to heal on me anyways. I hope that you were able to get some cold water on it, that helps a bit with the sting.

Glad you are okay but that was a painful lesson to learn. I have burnt myself a few times because I underestimated the micrwave
